The Minish Cap: Boss Guide

Here is our detailed Boss Guide for the Minish Cap!

Deepwood Shrine Bosses

Mini-boss-The miny boss for the first dungeon is a catapillar thing. It is pretty easy to beat. First, run up and stab it in the nose with your sword. Then the end of it will swell up and it will turn red. Before the creature turns red, run up and slash the end of the catapillar as much as you can. Repeat the process to win.

Big Boss- The big boss is a Giant Green Chu. It's actually normal sized, but your in Minish size. To beat it, move as far as possible from it. Then aim your Gust Jar at it. Suck in its bottom until it can't support itself and falls. Then run up and slash it with your sword. As you continue doing this, he will become more agressive and jump on you if you venture to far from him. You'll need to be quick with your sword and gust jar to win, but overall it's an easy battle

Cave of Flames Bosses

Mini-Boss- The mini-boss in this level is quite easy. You'll be facing a hoard of gray chuchus. Incase you forgot, gray chuchus turn into spiked balls when you approach them. Wait until they are no longer spiked to attack. Or, you can Spin-Attack them while in spiked ball form to stun them and then attack. Either way, make sure you keep them at bay with your sword to prevent getting killed.

Big Boss- You'll enter this boss chamber on a higher floor than the battle. Break the pots for supplies, then jump down the hole for the battle. Since the dungeons name is The Cave of Flames, it's no suprise that the boss is in lava and spits fire. To win, first get to the side or behind the boss and fire at its shell with the Cane of Pacci. At this point, all the boss does is shoot single fireballs at you which will stay on the ground once fired(slash them with your sword to get through). The shell will then spin over and fall on the boss, stunning it(it may take more than one shot for this to happen). Run over to the head and climb across the neck to the jewel on its back. Slash this as much as you can. When the boss starts moving again, run off as quick as you can. After this you'll be assaulted with a barrage of falling boulders and a overflowing lava pit . Dodge these and repeat the process as well as dodge the more numorous fireballs shot at you to win. Remember to stay far from the lava as well as to be quick. As the battle goes on, the boss will become more agile and harder to get around. Also, near the end the boss will become desperate and attempt to trap you with fireballs, cleave your way through these as quickly and cautiously as you can.

Fortress of Wind Bosses

Mini-Boss-The mini-boss in this level is another one of those knights with a sword and shield. His attacks can either take away a half of a heart or a quarter. To beat him, leave your self open for his attack. When he begins his strike, roll backwards and then attack him while his defense is down. Do this 4 times to win.

Big Boss-This boss is quite similiar to Bongo Bongo is OoT and the Temple of the Gods boss in MM. THe attacks this boss deals come from its two hands in the beggining. However only one hand attacks while the other waits. The attacks the hand deal range from a hand holding you and taking away a full heart to a hand squashing you taking away half a heart. THis is also the first boss battle which you need to be normal sized and Minish sized to win. To win, equip your bow and sword. While dodging one hands attacks shoot the red circular dot in the center of the waiting hand. Then run up and hit it with your sword until it bursts into smoke. Do this with the other hand also. Then the head will crash to the floor. Go to the minish portal and turn minish sized. Then run up and climb into the bosses head. Run to the pillar with the eye on the bottom and slash it with your sword until it explodes. You will then be removed from the head. Run back to the portal to become normal sized again. Around now, the boss will not only attack with its hands, but with laser beams from its head, be extra alert to dodge these, as they can deal some heavy damage. Do what you did the first time, only this time you'll need your mole mitts to dig away inside the head to find the eyeball pillar. After exploding the pillar, do exactly what you did for the second time again to win.

Temple of Droplets Bosses

Mini-Boss-The mini-boss in this level is a giant blue chuchu. You beat him the same way as you beat the green chuchu in Deepwood Shrine, suck his leg off with the Gust Jar, then wait for him to fall, most likely in the sun. Then slash his head like 20 times. However there is one important difference. You can't suck his legs when he is surrounded by an electric field and his attacks deal half a heart damage each.

Big Boss-So your about to get your Element when suddenly a hugh octorok comes out and eats it. Bummer, eh? Well chase him into the arena after more verbal abuse from Ezlo to begin the battle. Your in a large room filled with a shallow water pool. In the beggining, he'll shoot large rocks at you which take away half a heart when the large ones hit you and a quater of a heart when the little ones hit you. Using your shield, deflect these large rocks he's shooting into him four times or so. He will then freeze over, as well as the water. Now your focus is on putting fire to his tail by the lantern. He wil spin around rapidly shooting ice at you. Due to the ice, he cant stop spinning for a few moments, so run counter-clockwise if he runs clockwise. Then set fire to his tail. He will then unleash a barrage of boulders from the ceiling in blind rage. Then he will thaw out. He's now pissed and ready for more intense combat. Watch out for his new attack, he will suck you in, costing you a heart. Do the same as before, reflecting the boulders back into him. He will freeze over again. Do what you did on the ice last time. Now deflect one last boulder into him as a thaws a second time, causing him to grow very angry and smoking the whole arena so its dark. Use your latern to see. Shortly after a barrage of rocks in the dark, the lights will go on again. Continue shooting rocks back at him if you can. Either way, he'll smoke up the arena again after shooting one rock. Hit him with around 3 more rocks to win.

Palace of Wind Bosses

Mini-Boss- I don't know which to call the mini-boss, the one before the blue checkpoint, or the one before Roc's Cape. Either way, I'll tell you both. To beat the mini-boss before Roc's Cape, you'll need to be quick, because these guys have definitly heard of strength in numbers. First defeat the two wizard things, dodging there beams and hittting them from the side. Then defeat the four that pop up the ssame way, and then defeat the 8. Stay off to the side to attack them, as you'll be hit from the front. Stay off to the edges as the number of magicians increases, as the bulk of the fire goes to the middle.....Now for the checkpoint miny-boss. He is incredibly easy if you use your tactics. He is a golden knight and very tough if you want to beat him with your sword. But a much easier way is to leave your self open to attack, so he charges, then step out of the way so he jumps off the platform and dies.

Big Boss-The big boss is a Flying Stingray with eight eyes. To win first jump on the orange stingrays back. Then wait for three of its eyes to open. Mimic that pattern on the glowing blocks and attack the eyes at once, revealing all eight eyes. Hit those eight eyes as much as you can until they explode. Then, jump on the back of the blue stingray. JUmp when it's tail comes and hit it's eyes whenever they open. Soon you'll be back at the orange stingray. Do what you did last time, only this time you'll need to dodge the blue stingrays laser beams so you don't lose your focus with the clones. Attack the three eyes again and then the eight. Then hop on the blue stingray's back and dodge the tiny green floating projectiles the orange stingray shoots at you. You'll probably destroy the blue stingray by the time your back at the orange. Quickly charge up your sword and make your three clones and then cleave your way through the floating green stingrays the orange guy is sending out. Hit the eyes, and blow up the eight eyes one more time to win. The stingrays attacks only cause around half a hearts damage, but they are very numorous, so watch out!

Dark Hyrule Castle Bosses

Mini-Bosses-The mini-bosses are assorted knights. If you have learned the Great Spin Attack and the Longer Lasting Great Spin Attack, nows the time to use it. You can either fight a long battle with bombing them to stun them and then hitting them with your sword, or you can spin around them with the Great Spin Attack to get them killed in less than half the time!

Vaati-First Stage-Vaati now has the majority of the light force and has used it to turn himself into some kind of eyeball thing. He has some real heavy fire power now. If you get hit with the black orb, you'll lose up to three hearts! Mash your buttons and control pad to get out earlier. An easy way to prevent this is to suck up the black orb in the Gust Jar. He also has balls circling him as well as fireballs. The tiny circles deal half a heart each, while the fire takes away a full heart. The bottom right jar has a fairy in it if you need one. The bottom left has five arrows, and the two top jars have a heart in them. To beat him at first, hit all of his circling circles and dodge his attacks until he stays in one place and the eye on him is exposed. He will only expose his eye after all the circling projectilesm are destroyed for now. Run up and slash that as much as you can. After hitting him around 4 times, his circling projectiles will double to four. They will also stop moving and shoot lasers sometimes. These lasers deal one heart damage. Vaati now warps around the room too. After around ten eyeball hits, he now has big black balls circling him. These deal a little more damage but are easily defended suck them up with your gust jar, revealing the tiny balls. Destroy these and hit Vaati's eye as much as you can. After about 8 more hits, Vaati will warp with you to a different room, with glowing tiles on the floor in the pattern of his eight eyes. He is now a huge eye surrounded by a black cloud and 8 miniture blue eyes. He shoots many spiked balls, dealing a quarter of a heart each. You'll need to shoot his eyes with your arrows until you find the four red ones. Then mimic that pattern for your clones, and attack those 4 eyes and then the main eye. Do this several times to win. You can also break those spiked balls on the floor with your sword for hearts and arrows.

-Second Stage- With a collapsing castle you head to the sanctuary, to find....Vaati! He is now an eye with four tiny eyes below him and as two arms. His laser beam attack takes a heart away. Dodge his attacks and when he dips his arm into the ground, fire your Cane of Pacci at the part of the arm coming up out of the ground. Now turn Minish and go into the overturned arm. There are a bunch of enemies in there, but only one is the important one. Hit the one with the lighter eyeball to destroy the arm. Then you'll exit the arm. Become normal sized and repeat the process. Only this time, you'll need to use your lantern to see because it is dark in the arm. After both arms are gone, they four eyes will open. Vaati will become more aggressive with his laser beams too, and the eyes will shoot beams too. Clone yourself four times through the four glowing tiles, then stand in front of the eyes. When the laser beams in the eyes are charging and the eyes are blue, swipe your sword repeatedly or charge it up for a sword spin so that when the lasers come, they'll be deflected back at the eye. If all four beams were deflected with your clones into the eyes, the body (or big eye) will be exposed to hit. Do this around 3 or four times to win! Congratulations!
